Playa de San Juan is located in municipality Guia de Isora between Alcala and Abama Hotel. It is the only coastal town in the south Tenerife which is still not declared touristic area.
The main attraction of Playa de San Juan is its beach, big fishing port and lots of fish restaurants around it. It has very warm winter weather – on of the warmest on the island. The town is surrounded by banana plantations.
There is a long oceanfront promenade, many shops, cafes, the town hall office, pharmacy, school, gym and lots of other services. The port is offering sailing classes and kayak and SUP rentals.
In 2017 the new TF-1 highway connection was opened. And new powerful distiller plant will be finished by 2018. There is also a project for building an interinsular ferry port.
Playa San Juan mostly consists of residential apartments and penthouses. Many properties have ocean views. There are also private houses and villas in the east part of the town.
